New to the Shop - A Modern Lego Invitation

My son, Jeffrey, is turning 6 in less than 2 weeks and I am preparing for his fun LEGO themed party the 2nd weekend in June. (Fun stuff!)

We already had Lego inspired designs in our shop, but I wanted to come up with something fresh, new, modern and clean for his party.

So far, I have designed and released photos of his Lego inspired invitation that we delivered to all of his buddies...
The invitation is 5x7, but it is a fold over style so that you can turn it into a bag topper.
We included SIX Legos in the cello bag (get it?)
We delivered some by hand and some we sent in the mail.

We also designed return address logos and party labels (for the "to" addresses) to go with the theme.

Full collection coming soon!
Lots of building to do over here to plan for the party!
Can't wait to share!
XO

{Featured Clients} Horsing Around for Ailey's 5th Birthday Party

Our fabulous client, Molly, blogger extraordinaire (see her blog, Pomp & Circumstance, here), wanted to throw for her daughter Ailey's 5th, the horse party Ailey has wanted since she was two years old.

Molly purchased our Western Cowboy birthday party invitation and asked us to design for her some coordinating printables. Yee haw!

In Molly's words, the event went at a full speed gallop, "we had the party at Serenbe Stables in Palmetto, GA. Serenbe is a gorgeous, organic, sustainable community that has some of the most beautiful facilities, grounds, and living practices I've ever seen. Ailey has wanted a riding party since she was 2, so we figured for the big 5, we'd go for it!

I handmade the vintage-style horse prize ribbons for each girl to have and either wear at the party, or take home in her "goody box". The boxes, by the way, I found at an antiques market in Atlanta...for one dollar each! I covered the table with kraft paper and re-purposed purple scrap booking paper as decorate-able place mats.

I used bamboo paper plates and bamboo utensils at each place setting, with varying shades of purple bandannas as "napkins,"or whatever girls wanted to do with them!
I found the silver trophy-like vessel at the same antiques market for eight dollars and put some lavender and other purple flowers in it as a centerpiece.

We ate caramel corn, cotton candy, cake pops, a fabulous cake (made by my friend Maria in Atlanta), fresh berries, and little lunches packed for each guest. The lunch bags I embellished with printables and used pinking shears to customize the tops. There were pb&j sandwiches, pickles, fruit, and chips in each bag.
The glasses on the tables are mini mason jars (and of course I couldn't find purple striped straws until AFTER the party). Go figure!

I created a vintage looking photo timeline to hang with twine and mini-clothespins over the favor table.
The favor boxes also included horses that "neigh" from the Target dollar bins (gotta love it!); Silly Bandz featuring horses; lollipops and chocolates (all purple, of course); and the horse ribbons, tied with purple and white twine from Michael's, finished off with your amazing hang tags. The stables were such a gorgeous location that we didn't need to do much to decorate!

All platters were from HomeGoods, as well as the dessert table linen. I wrapped the riser boxes in kraft paper and purple ribbon, and the cotton candy and caramel corn paper cones (which I made from scrapbook paper) were secured by sticking skewer sticks in to mini hay bales on the table.
We took turns riding horses and doing a craft activity--decorating small horse figurines with glitter, sequins, etc.!--before having lunch and enjoying the sweets. We had a BLAST!" Molly, the party sounds absolutely amazing!

Thank you for sharing with us the details and some super pictures!

{Featured Parties} Alden's 3rd Firetruck Birthday Party

Calling all firefighters to the station! It's time to share Alden's 3rd birthday celebration!

My dear friend, Kathryn (the editor of My Mommie Made It), celebrated her son's 3rd birthday recently.
I am excited to share with you her party details.

She sent out Anders Ruff invitations to set the tone for her party....

Kathryn is a talented seamstress and owns her own embroidery business. She whipped up this adorable fire hat appliqued shirt for her son, Alden, to wear on his big day.

The guests were greeted with the cutest easel and polkadot balloons to coordinate. (LOVE those!!) Alden was so excited when he saw the fire truck pull up!The Charlotte Fire Department is so nice! They came and let the kids play in and around the fire truck. They showed the kids some of the awesome features of the firetruck and even let them spray the fire hose!
My little Peanut had a BLAST!

Inside, sweets awaited the little ones. Kathryn had us design some coordinating printable party logos for the cupcakes. Her setup looked precious. She hung a banner on the mirror and embellished it with printable firetruck circle pennants.

She used adorable polkadot cupcake liners in the color scheme of red, white and black.

Alden loved his sweet cupcakes. Dr. Oetker makes the yummiest organic flavors and are our go-to for special occasions. She used Jacinda's Decorator Icing recipe from Prudent Baby and piped it on in sweet swirls. (She used the butter + vegetable shortening minus transfat + meringue powder version, and it was ah-mazing!) They were absolutely delicious!
When it was time to go, the kids got a cute wrapped up favor (firetruck sticker set) with an organic lolli and embellished with a printed favor tag.

Great job, Kathryn! We had a blast!

Kathryn has a blog called "My Mommie Made It". It is a place for all things crafty. Kathryn is a talented seamstress, crafter, artist, monogrammer (is that a word?) and more!
She has an etsy shop that she is in the process of opening so be sure to check her out!

{Featured Clients} Me & Riley - Luau Party from Dubai

Spring is right around the corner and that means fun, festive outdoor parties.
This party is beyond fun and festive!

Emma of Me & Riley, a Dubai U.A.E based event planning company, sent us photos from her gorgeous event that she recently planned.

If you haven't visted Me & Riley's site, you should! They do amazing parties and I love to see the different ways that other countries style their parties. There are lots of similarities to parties in the U.S but some of the details can't go unnoticed! You will see what I mean.... Eye candy below!

Me & Riley also has a very sound ethical policy where they attempt to go the most environmentally friendly route. I love their use of wooden utensils! Definitely check out their site!

Beautiful hanging decor, beautiful seating arrangements and table setup...

Here is the invitation that they sent out to their guests (available in the shop)

Precious totes!

Look at this beautiful cake!

I love the pillows around the table. I think I need to do that at my next party! So festive and colorful. I think this is a gorgeous party setting!

Definitely check out Me & Riley contemporary events site. Loads of inspiration!
We love working with international clients because they inspire us in so many new ways!
Oh, and on a side not - check out this photo from an Airplane themed party that we designed placemats for.

Thank you for sharing, Emma!

{PART THREE (of 3) - Super P Turns 3! A Vintage Pop Art Super Hero Party by Anders Ruff

Super P Turns 3
A Vintage Pop Art Super Hero Party
Part ONE - The Dessert Table (Thursday's post)
Part TWO - The Candy Bar and Favor Table (Monday's post)
Part THREE - The Action (Activities) (today's post)

SUPER excited to share more of the Pop Art Inspired Super Hero party...

I've shared the dessert table, the candy bar and the favor table.
Today I am sharing the "action" portion of the party.

When the children arrived, they were given a "Super Logo" with their initial on it. (It was a sticker that they would adhere to their shirt) I had considered appliqueing shirts for all the kids, but I quit w/ that idea after finishing Pierson's and Jeffrey's ;-) Stickers were MUCH easier and they would be useful for one of the games (later on I'll share)....

The children were pointed in the direction of the London Style "telephone booth" (That I made from a refrigerator box!). There they would transform from their secret identity to their SUPER HERO identity. All of the children were given capes and masks... (Kid Kapers is the BEST - she makes custom capes and masks!) They also had their Super Hero Logo sticker on their shirt...

Even the girls got into it! I was so excited to see them all pretending as well!
They loved their pink get ups!

Here is my sweet Jeffrey coming out from his transformation.

Who knew a box could be so much entertainment?

Here is Adria's daughter..... (not sure where her super logo sticker went?)
Caryn's sweet girls...

All of the tables were pre-set with place settings for each child.
I had made boxed lunches and put them in a white gable box (from Nashville Wraps!)
I adhered a sticker with a city scape on it for the kids to color (think "classy" McDonalds happy meal haha!)
The "callout / conversation bubble" says "Don't forget to eat your veggies!" ;-)

I designed luggage tags for all of the kids with their name on them. Those would signify where the children were to sit.

Each place setting had a black/white polka dot melamine plate (perfectly coordinating - from TARGET!), a water bottle (with our printable wrapper on it), and a cute little pop bottle with candies in it (Thought "POP" would be a good logo to put on those... the kids LOVED them!) Also, red/yellow/blue markers were placed at the tables for the kids to color their lunch boxes....
I wrapped plastic silverware with black/white polkadot napkins from Target and sealed it with one of our printable party logos.

Up close of the water bottle / drink wrap...

Pierson had a special seat ;-) He got an awesome reusable lunch bag from Urban Harmonie Designs.

What was on the menu? HERO sandwiches, of course. Labeled, of course!
Little fruit cups were served and they had "MMM" and "YUM"stickers on them...(in our printable collection!)

Next up - the coloring wall / graffiti wall....
I designed a skyline with some personalized touches like the big Super P Logo and some cute call outs....
This 135" x 36" tall poster wrapped under my bar in my kitchen and the kids were to "Color the wall with their favorite super color"...
This kept the kids busy! What kid wouldn't want to color on the wall!?

By popular demand, we are now offering this customized printable coloring poster in our shop!
By the way, you can't really tell.... but I wrapped my bar. I wrapped the edge of the granite with an aqua grosgrain ribbon and then fit a piece of black/white polkadot wrapping paper to the top portion so that the bar would "coordinate" ;-)

Next up .... Pin the Super Logo on Pierson's Super P!
I drew a pop art graphic poster of Pierson (remember, over the candy bar?)....
The kids were blindfolded and given a super hero logo sticker (with their initial - like the one they wore on their shirt).... they had to pin their logo on Pierson's logo....

Some were closer than others! ;-)

We had a Photo Booth for the children to have their pictures taken. We made (DIY project) a fake barbell weight that the kids could pretend to be lifting over their heads. we also had handheld signs that said “Boom” and “Pow”. The backdrop was the polkadot/benday dot pattern that was repeated on the dessert table. We also had a printed “conversation bubble” that was on the backdrop and it said “Happy 3rd Birthday Super Pierson”.
We got some funny shots
(don't mind my ribbon stash at the top!) ;-)
Jeffrey being "SUPER".

I made a prop that was a barbell weight.... Jeffrey is SUPER strong!

Adria and I had to get in on the action before everyone arrived....

You'lll see that we had yellow/red/blue cardboard bricks that the kids enjoyed building walls and breaking through walls like a super hero.
We had the "boom" and "POW" signs printed at Sign Guy, as well as the big Super P emblems that were all over!

Adria's daughters....

Caryn's daughter....

Pierson was loving his mask and cape from Kid Kapers!

Super heros all over!

My boys before the party....

Super girls all over, too!

At cake time, we used plates that JoAnne of Oh Goodie Designs loaned me.
They were so SUPER!
That cake was just SO delish (Thanks, Mandie/ Got What It Cakes!)

Overall this was a SUPER party! Thanks to all of the fabulous dessert artists and vendors for their awesome products!

One of my fav shots.... ;-)
