{Giveaway} Wrap It Up: A Very Special Gift Basket from Nashville Wraps

Gable box with raffia from Nashville Wraps

We are huge fans of Nashville Wraps. They are a wholesaler to retail businesses (they sell their product in bulk and most of their customers are event/party planners and designers). We recently used several of their items in our shoots and they have generously offered to giveaway to one lucky follower a gift basket chock full of their products. Here are a few photos of their products used in our shoots:

Raffia

Cello wrap

More cello wrap in action!

We also love the fact that Nashville Wraps was one of the first companies to offer recycled gift wrap for packaging. Tickle us green! To give you a bit more background about the company, we would like to share with you an interview/article that was published in Giftwrap Magazine.

What prompted you to get into this area and how long have you been involved?

From the very beginning Nashville Wraps has sold recycled gift packaging. Our first product, gift wrap, was made from recovered papers used in the textile industry. That commitment to environmental stewardship continued in 2008 when we introduced our Green Way® line of eco-friendly packaging. The market has become more accepting of green products, and we believe it is the responsible thing to do.

What types of green wrapping products are out there – e.g. reusable gift bags, paper gift wrap made of recycled paper, scarves and other materials used to wrap gifts in – and why did you choose your approach?

Our Green Way® line includes the following products made out of recycled materials: paper shopping bags, plastic shopping bags, tissue paper, gift wrap, gift boxes, candy boxes, cake boxes, take out boxes, gable boxes, shipping boxes, gift basket shred, ribbon and bows. They all vary in recycled content from 25% to many being 100% recycled material. Many of our gift and gourmet boxes along with our jewelry boxes are made from 100% recycled boxboard. We also carry biodegradable cello bags and cello rolls as well as reusable shopping bags.

The Distant Village Collection features artisan crafted, sustainable packaging handmade from natural eco-friendly plant based materials. These include Congon grass bags, banana paper bags, cocoa paper window boxes, nested boxes, sinamay mesh bags, ribbon and twine.

We believe “green” and “beautiful” are not mutually exclusive. Our slogan is “Green never looked so good” because of our commitment to giving our customers the latest in exclusive eco-friendly designs to help them stay on trend and for their own green initiatives.

What have you seen in terms of changes in demand for green gift wrap?

The demand continues to grow. Nashville Wraps was one of the first companies to offer recycled gift wrap for retail packaging. Most of our new gift wraps are made from recycled papers.

Why do you feel this type of product appeals to consumers?

We believe our customers, retail store owners, are educated and care about the environment on some level. They understand the importance of stewardship and responsible community leadership.

What creative merchandising methods have you seen?

Our customers are able to create a completely green look with recycled shopping bags, gift wrap, tissue and recycled ribbon. They also love our new paper raffia ribbon that is degradable and recyclable.

Many brides today want “green” weddings, and we have lots of sustainable choices for shops that cater to them. Many great examples of how our customers use our product can be found on our Facebook and Flickr pages.

What recommendations would you have for retailers on how they can best promote these products and educate consumers about them?

Our website offers a free tent card download to print and display for your counter to let customers know you use our eco-friendly packaging. Go to http://www.nashvillewraps.com/ and look for the Green Way® links.

Anything else you would add?

Since packaging is a disposable product, let’s encourage each other to buy it responsibly – meaning from recycled product. Then close the loop by recycling it and encourage your customers to do the same. Please visit our blog for the latest news on eco-friendly packaging.
