For an upcoming project we are working on (early 2011), we were searching for a vendor for beautiful cupcake toppers that were fondant/sugar. I stumbled upon Sweet Petal Bakery and couldn't believe my eyes. I keep trying to zoom in on the photos to see if these beautiful works of art were actually edible!? Sure enough, they were! Eye candy - pun intended!

Anna is the owner and mastermind behind Sweet Petal Bakery on etsy. She creates the most beautifully crafted and affordable gum paste/ fondant flowers for wedding cakes and cupcakes. She is getting into more "party" related items as well.

Also of note, Anna does CUSTOM work! A majority of what you see in her shop will send you into a botanical frenzy! Don't need flowers? Well, don't hesitate to ask if you have something in mind that you want "sugar-fied"- I am seeing more and more designs of hers be more tailored towards birthday parties.

Did I mention that she has already had a lot of press and is going to be in a BRIDES magazine in early 2011?!

Having cupcakes for a party? Why not opt for something super unique from Anna's store? All you have to do is bake up (or buy) some simple cupcakes (with cute liners from The Cupcake Social, I hope!), and top it with a beautiful edible design and your cupcakes are no longer cupcakes... they are a work of art!

If you are like me, I love to make my own cakes, but don't have the time or materials to make beautiful fondant cakes. For my next event, I think I'll just embellish a cake that I make with some of her beautiful creations. I know it is sure to impress! My next party is going to be a Carnival, so I am sure Anna will help me come up with something super creative to use as toppers!

Anna is so practical too - the advice she gives is wonderful, especially for brides (or any hostess) that is smart with her money! Don't pay 100's of dollars for designer cakes when you can get the same look by ordering beautiful flowers or toppers from Sweet Petal Bakery. Just order a cake from your well-loved bakery and ask them to put these flowers on it for a fraction of the cost.

Talk about EYE candy... These would go BEAUTIFULLY with an event that set the tone using our contemporary floral invitation from our shop. Did I mention that she can do pretty much ANY color you want!
