Erin plans parties to the max, just like we do! That is probably why I loved working with her so much. You just have to check out her blog! She has a couple blogs, actually. Haute Dates (a party blog) and Haute Plates (A recipe blog). She recently had a Mad Hatter Tea Party that was over the top!
So, onto the Luau Party details. Her daughter, Megan, was turning 7 and wanted to have a pool party for her birthday. A pool party it was! Just wait til you see the cute details.
We designed the invitation for her and lots of coordinating items to tie the party together, graphically speaking.
Erin did an awesome job of making her backyard a backyard beach! Look at all of her decorations!
We designed a logo for her to use for signs around the party and the way she matted them on those bright colored fans - so cute! She used fabric poms, paper lanterns, mylar palm trees and my favorite - ruffled crepe paper streamers!
She explains how to do those in her blog... Sew 2 colors of crepe paper together using the highest tension and longest stitch length. Sounds easy and fun! (Wish I had a girl to do it for!!!!)
Now check out the cute little girls at the party! How happy do they look!?
Erin's details are so creative. She made blue jello with gummy fish floating!
She filled the pool with rings and dolphins and played a game like Musical Chairs in the water! How creative! (I want to play!) Check out her door decor. She used the logo we designed again for the door hanger motif.
We designed party logos for her luau and she used them throughout the party. One great place to use them is on CUPS. I love buying solid colored cups and decorating them with cute personalized and coordinating logos!
Another creative (and cheap) way to add excitement to the party is by using fun coordinating water bottle and drink wraps. I swear, I will never put out a water bottle w/o wrapping it with something cuter than a typical Aquafina or deer park wrap!
On to the yummy food. Check out the dessert table that Erin put together. Just wait til you see closer. She served Starburst, Rainbow Sherbet, Chocolate "Beach" Cupcakes, Pina Colada Cupcakes, Otter Pops and Swedish Fish.
We designed sweet personalized food labels for her and you see them throughout the table. Do you see her tiered cake stand. She MADE it. Check out her blog to see more details on it!
Look at the adorable cupcakes! Pina Colada cupcakes (with cupcake toppers, of course!) Look at the chocolate beach cupcakes! Water and sand and a cute little lifesaver looking candy! AHH! So adorable. She served Pina Coladas (well, coconut smoothies, actually) - so yummy!
Erin took the time to make a really thoughtful favor. She appliqued pink t-shirts with a striped bikini for each little friend. What a great coverup that makes. I've said it once and I'll say it again - I love favors that people actually use!
Thanks, Erin (and Megan!) for sharing such a beautiful party! It looks like everyone had a wonderful day.
what a great party! I love how she put everything together :)
